With over 1 million square feet of retail and entertainment space, Atlantic Station has thrived since its opening in 2006. It's not your typical mall! The impressive development encompasses 138 acres and features a diverse array of shops, from books and boots to luxury furniture and furs. You can even catch a movie in the two-story theater. It's an impressive feat, as ambitious as any development in the country.

You could easily spend a full day exploring the various stores at this urban shopping center, which boasts a wide array of options ranging from popular clothing brands like Athleta and Dillards to shoe haven DSW Show Warehouse and accessory paradise Charming Charlie. One of the star attractions is the city's first IKEA, where you can enjoy a unique shopping experience while feasting on southern delicacies like grits and sweet tea in the locally themed restaurant.

If you need to recharge after all the excitement, head to Envegan. This beloved casual eatery features “crab” cake burgers, vegan chicken nuggets for the kids who need a refuel, smoothies, juices and shakes.

Buckhead Village District

Bennett Street District

Location: Bennett St., Atlanta, GA

If you have your heart set on a bespoke treasure, head to Bennett Street in south Buckhead, where warehouses have been converted into shops and galleries. The Bennett Street District runs off the 2100 block of Peachtree Raod and boasts some of the best decorative art markets in the region, with the famed Interiors Market holding court in the center of it all. Other must-stops for vintage finds and art include the Atlanta Art Gallery and Anna Hathaway store.

Old Fourth Ward
