Hotel Savory Kansas City, a part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a true destination. It holds a AAA Four Diamond-designation and blends historic charm with the perfect placement in the Financial and Library Districts. This 120-room hotel is a historic landmark, having first opened its doors in 1888. It's the longest continuously serving hotel west of the Mississippi.

But this boutique destination offers every luxury of a modern, high-end destination. You'll enjoy the valet parking and fitness center. But also being able to awe at the stunning architecture and original stained glass makes it a museum-like experience. Don't forget to enjoy a drink like Harry S. Truman did in the lounge.

2. The Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center

If you're in town for an event near the Crown Center area of Kansas City, stay at the AAA Three Diamond-designated Sheraton Kansas City Hotel. It's attached to the event center in the heart of the downtown area. Often the ideal choice for those in town for a meeting or corporate event, it's anything but stuffy. Enjoy the heated, outdoor pool with a skyline view.

At the AAA Three Diamond-designated Hampton Inn & Suites Kansas City Downtown Crossroads, you'll enjoy a number of benefits, including excellent access to the T-Mobile Center, the Crossroads Arts District and the KC Convention Center. One of the coolest local amenities has to be the RideKC Streetcars, which you can access directly from this hotel.

But you'll have to convince yourself to leave these rooms and suites. With an onsite Starbucks, free Wi-Fi, hot breakfast served every day and a top-ranked restaurant onsite, it's hard to beat all the Hampton Inn offers. It's close to all of the top things to do in Kansas City if you do venture out.

4. The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center

The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center boasts a AAA Three-Diamond designation and is also minutes from just about everything downtown. It's just a short walk to Union Station. From there, you can check out Legoland and head to the Sea Life Aquarium for a fun day out.

But there's lots to enjoy at one of the top hotels in Kansas City as well. It has one of the largest and most impressive outdoor heated pools that's open throughout the year. You can also enjoy the WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, relax in the sauna and sweat out the frustrations in the steam room. With a AAA Three Diamond-designation, Home2 Suites Kansas City Downtown is the ideal choice when you want a hotel that's more like a home. It's about ½ mile from Union Station with several restaurants onsite. But in the room, you'll enjoy a balcony with fabulous views, comfortable and spacious layouts and modern amenities. Don't skip the breakfast buffet filled with favorites. They even offer free grocery shopping service. Ask about the suites with in-room kitchens, too.

This is one of the best hotels in Kansas City for numerous reasons, especially since it's only a 10-minute walk to Science City. You're close to the World War I Museum (about a mile away). If you're here for a while, this hotel is just minutes from the freeways.

6. Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City Downtown/Convention Center

The Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City Downtown/Convention Center is the perfect AAA Three Diamond-designated location to stay if you're visiting for an event at the Kansas City Convention Center or the T-Mobile Center. You can just walk there in under 10 minutes. It's also easily accessible from the airport at about 20 minutes out. If you're planning to stay for a while or want to relax in the room longer, check out one of the suites with a fully equipped kitchen.

The larger suites offer family rooms (perfect for those days the kids need downtime) and you need a work desk. It's easy to catch a great meal at one of the restaurants in the Power & Light District, which is about a 7-minute walk. It has some of the best local nightlife in town. If you have some extra time, book a Kansas City cultural heritage private tour while you're in town.

This destination location offers beautifully designed, eclectic rooms, excellent guest service and ample privacy even though it's in the heart of downtown Kansas City. It's quiet and a bit out of the way to provide both stunning city views and long, serene nights.

Enjoy a drink or two at the jazz club onsite, called Lonnie's Reno Club or enjoy high-quality dining in a romantic setting at The American Reserve, also onsite. It's within a short drive to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts for a night out. Enjoy a good night's rest before heading out the next day.

8. Loews Kansas City Hotel

You're located just a few minutes' walk from the KC Streetcar, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and the entire Power & Light District. Make sure to visit some of the best restaurants in Kansas City in the area, such as North Italia or the Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom. You'll have plenty of time to check out this entire district when you stay this close.
