The Basics

The Andrew Low House is a popular stop on historic walking tours as well as Savannah’s Old Town Trolley tours and hop-on-hop-off buses. Visitors can join a guided tour of the mansion for a more in-depth understanding of the mansion and the family that lived there. In addition to Andrew Low, the mansion was home to his son, William, who married Juliette Gordon, the founder of Girl Scouts of America.

How to Get There

The Andrew Low House is located on Abercorn Street in Savannah’s Historic District. You can avoid the hassle of driving and finding parking by joining a walking tour or hopping on the Old Town Trolley. The Andrew Low House is trolley stop 6.

When to Get There

The mansion is open year-round and guided tours are offered every half-hour. Peak season in Savannah is spring and fall, so if visiting at these times consider an early morning visit to avoid the crowds.

Touring Savannah’s Historic Homes

History buffs who are interested in learning more about the history of Savannah should consider booking a Pioneers in Preservation Pass. The pass includes entrance to three historic homes at a discounted rate. In addition to the Andrew Low House, you can visit the Davenport House Museum (built in 1820 and one of Savannah’s oldest open-to-the-public homes) and the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace. The latter is the childhood home of Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon Low.
