Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory
154 S Beach St, Daytona Beach, FL, 32114
The Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory is a staple of historic downtown Daytona Beach. It’s called this Florida city home since the early days of World War II, but it was founded in Mackinac, Michigan, in 1925 by Riddell Angell and Cora Phelps. The women-owned business was purchased by new owners in 1983. Today, old-style confections and more modernized chocolates are for sale.
The basics
A stop at Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory is a must when strolling historic downtown Daytona Beach. This beloved chocolate shop offers tours between Monday and Saturday which last around 20 minutes. Samples are included in the tour, but you can stop in for a sample without touring the factory. Many of the original chocolate recipes created by Angell and Phelps are still used, though not all confections are original creations.
Things to know before you go
Tours happen once an hour, around six times each day.
Sugar-free and non-chocolate candies are available.
The gift shop sells a few souvenirs beyond candies.
How to get there
Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory is located at 154 S. Beach Street, on the Halifax River's west side. It’s adjacent to Riverfront Park between Magnolia Avenue and Myrtle Lane, so you can walk to it from the free parking spots along Beach Avenue. There is a bus stop across the street, as well. If driving, take Exit 261 from I-95 to W. International Speedway Drive, drive east, and then take a right on Beach Street.
When to get there
Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory is in historic downtown Daytona Beach. Weekends and weekdays in summer are the most crowded. The store is open from morning through the early evening. Sundays have limited afternoon hours and no tours. You don’t need more than 30 minutes for the tour and shopping, so as long as you arrive within an hour of closing, you should have no problem getting the samples and candy you want.

Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory is just one of the many family-run, artisan eateries around Daytona Beach. Sorrento’s Bakery is a local favorite for fresh bread while Rosie’s Italian Bakery & NY Style Deli specializes in pastries like cookies and cannolis that are filled fresh to order. Donnie’s Donuts is the go-to for vintage flavors, including its popular maple bacon donut.
