Ann Morrison Park
Boise, ID
On the banks of the Boise River, Ann Morrison Park is the largest park in the city. Spanning 153 acres (62 hectares), the park offers a wide range of recreational facilities and sports fields, plus access to the Boise River Greenbelt.
The basics
Packed full of amenities, Ann Morrison Park is a popular destination for Boise residents and visitors. Active visitors can play sports such as bocce (Italian-style bowls), cricket, disc golf, horseshoe, softball, tennis, and volleyball. It also serves as a river take-out point after floating or rafting the Boise River. The park also has a playground, outdoor gym, off-leash dog island, spray fountain and splash pad, reservable shelter, and pollinator garden.
Things to know before you go
- It’s free to access Ann Morrison Park.
- While you can book some amenities such as the shelter and softball field, others are only available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Dogs are permitted off-leash at the Together Treasure Valley Dog Island year-round and seasonally in the rest of the park.
How to get there
Ann Morrison Park is south of the Boise River, between Capitol Boulevard, Americana Boulevard, and Crescent Rim Drive. Free parking is available at the park, though overnight parking is not permitted. Some visitors visit the park as part of a Boise River raft or float from Barber Park, with the park being the take-out location.
When to get there
Ann Morrison Park is open from sunrise to sunset, though the lighted ball fields stay open until 11pm during game days. Off-leash pets are permitted in the park (aside from Dog Island) between November and February. Certain facilities are seasonal, such as the Splash Pad (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and bocce (mid-April to mid-September).
How to access the Boise River Greenbelt
Ann Morrison Park is one of the “Ribbon of Jewels” riverside urban parks that offer access to the Boise River Greenbelt. Stretching from Lucky Peak to Garden City, the Boise River Greenbelt features 25 miles (40 kilometers) of unpaved and paved multi-use pathways along the north and south shores of the Boise River.
