Asheville Community Theatre
Asheville, NC
One of the oldest community theaters in the nation, the Asheville Community Theatre has brought locally run performances to western North Carolina since 1946. Producing musicals, comedies, and dramas, ACT has two venues that offer shows year-round, along with offering classes, readings, and special events.
The basics
The Asheville Community Theatre’s mainstage season is all about those Broadway lights—made and produced by Asheville locals—from The Sound of Music to Into the Woods. Beyond the big-ticket season, ACT also presents staged readings and youth productions, and offers classes, outreach, and theater camp for kids. See a show here and feel good about your money and time—a way to catch top talent while supporting the community too.
Things to know before you go
- Tickets can be purchased in person at the box office, over the phone, or online.
- If you’d like to wing it and save money, rush tickets are sold at the door 30 minutes prior to showtime.
- Children ages 3 and under do not need a ticket.
