BC Place Stadium

Originally built for the 1986 world’s fair, this stadium was given an upgrade—and a new retractable roof—before the 2010 Winter Olympics, for which it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies. Home turf for the BC Lions football team and the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer club, the arena also hosts concerts and trade shows.
The basics
BC Place enjoys a prominent position along the Vancouver waterfront, and can be seen from ferries passing through False Creek. Some sightseeing tours of Vancouver pass by the stadium while moving between the nearby neighborhoods of Yaletown, Chinatown, and Gastown. The on-site BC Sports Hall of Fame runs tours of the stadium, which include behind-the-scenes access to the media lounge, locker rooms, and playing field, as well as the Hall of Fame sport-themed exhibits. Tours can be booked in advance, and capacity is limited to 20. Individual tickets for the BC Sports Hall of Fame—with no tour included—can also be purchased ahead of time.
Things to know before you go
*BC Place is a must for sports fans. *There are numerous food and drink concessions inside the stadium. *Portable phone chargers, sensory kits, and weighted blankets can be borrowed from the BC Place Guest Services desk. *BC Place is wheelchair-accessible.
How to get there
BC Place is situated in downtown Vancouver at the north side of False Creek. Bus route 15 and 17 run to BC Place. Alternatively, take the SkyTrain (Expo line) to Stadium–Chinatown station. The arena is a 5-minute walk from the station. The BC Sports Hall of Fame is located within the stadium at gate A.
When to get there
If you’re coming for a specific event, arrive early as you’ll have to pass through security screening before you can enter. The BC Sports Hall of Fame is open daily from 10am to 5pm.

Sporting fans often come to the stadium to visit the BC Sports Hall of Fame, whose memorabilia-packed exhibits are devoted to local sporting heroes and the sporting history of the province. Ticket holders can gain half-price admission to the BC Sports Hall of Fame on game days.
