Bioparc Fuengirola
Calle Camilo José Cela, 6, y 8, Fuengirola, Málaga, 29640
Home to more than 200 species, Bioparc Fuengirola provides visitors with an illuminating and immersive journey around the endangered wildlife of the world’s continents. More wildlife reserve than a zoo and focused on conservation and education, the park is composed of recreated natural animal habitats, so you can see them almost as if in the wild in forest, bushland, and jungle settings.
The basics
Bioparc Fuengirola is arranged into four areas: Equatorial Africa, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, and the Indo-Pacific. Visitors wander paths through each region’s habitats–all bounded by natural barriers like rivers–allowing them to experience the animals’ natural environments while staying safe. View Komodo dragons plodding around temple ruins, see crocodiles snoozing on riverbanks, spot tigers in bushland, and observe gorillas, leopards, orangutans, pygmy hippos, giant tortoises, exotic birds, and more.
Visitors pre-book entry online or purchase admission at the gate to explore the park independently. Inside, you can join guided tours of the Madagascar region in Spanish and English–check the Bioparc website for schedules.
Things to know before you go
Bioparc Fuengirola promises a fascinating and educational outing for families with kids of all ages.
The park is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible and features cafes, a gift shop, a playground, and restrooms.
Bioparc hosts regular guided animal observation programs–check the website for details.
Complimentary park maps are available at the entrance.
How to get there
Bioparc Fuengirola is located at Calle Camino Jose Cela 6-8 in Fuengirola, close to the Parque Espana. Drivers will find two payable parking lots nearby–one neighboring the Bioparc and another near Espana Parque. The Bioparc is also a roughly 8-minute stroll from Fuengirola train station and around 10 minutes on foot from the town’s bus terminal on Calle Jacinto Benavente.
When to get there
Bioparc Fuengirola welcomes visitors daily year-round, typically from 10am, although it sometimes closes on public holidays. Closing times change according to the season, with extended evening hours up to midnight during July and August. To enjoy it at its quietest in summer, arrive at opening time to avoid late-morning crowds.
After-dark visits to Bioparc Fuengirola
If you plan to visit Bioparc Fuengirola in July or August, make the most of its late-night openings. Artificial moonlight and piped forest noises make everything feel extra magical, and you’ll have a good chance of seeing nocturnally active species like leopards, porcupines, and flying fox bats. Cap your visit with supper at one of the cafes for a truly memorable evening out.
