Boulder County Farmers Market
Boulder, CO
Head to Boulder County Farmers Markets to discover an array of vendors selling locally-sourced products, ranging from vegetables to baked goods, fruits, cheeses, and much more. There’s also plenty of options if you’re looking for a bite to eat from street food vendors, hoping to grab a great coffee, or just wanting to stock up on delicacies. For some local flavor that comes with a side of live music and fun, there’s nowhere better.
The basics
The Boulder County Farmers Market has two iterations: the Wednesday market and the Saturday market. Both come chock-full of local vendors selling everything from fresh Palisade peaches to ready-to-eat meals you can enjoy in the picnic area. Expect loads of produce, snacks, baked goods, and more—including live music. On the second Saturday of the month, an artisan market joins in on the action, where local vendors sell crafts and goods next to the sea of delicious, edible fare.
Things to know before you go
- For small purchases, cash is appreciated; have some small bills on hand, if you can.
- The market runs next to Boulder Creek—bring a blanket and turn the day into a picnic. There are a few picnic tables on-site, too.
- The Boulder County Farmers Markets doesn’t allow dogs, so leave Fido at home.
How to get there
Both the Saturday and Wednesday farmers markets are held on 13th Street, between Arapahoe Ave & Canyon Boulevard. It’s right by the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse, steps from the Boulder Creek Path, and just a couple blocks from Pearl Street. Do walk or take public transit if you can—finding parking can be hectic.
When to get there
The Wednesday farmers market takes place from May to October, typically from 3:30pm to 7:30pm; the Saturday farmers market runs from April to November, between 8am and 2pm. Come during the first hour or so for the smallest crowds and best selection of goods.
Wednesday night delights
Boulder’s Wednesday night farmers market features an entire food court and a beer garden—it’s sort of a local secret (don’t tell them your source). Expect all the standard fresh market fare plus tamales, steamed dumplings, Vietnamese food, pizza, fresh-pressed juices, and more. Come hungry and enjoy the street-festival vibes.
