Go inside, though, and you’ll catch beautiful 22-foot (nearly 7-meter) murals that frame the main room and old-school wooden stage. The theater’s calendar brings entertainment across genres, from live music to comedy to avant-garde film screenings, so you never know what you’ll discover at this unique venue.

• The Boulder Theater is surprisingly intimate, holding up to 1,000 guests.
• Backpacks and large bags are not allowed inside the theater.
• Unless you have permission, professional cameras with detachable lenses are also not allowed.

How to get there

The Boulder Theater is located at 2032 14th St. in downtown Boulder, Colorado. If you have a car, look for paid garage parking and street parking (which is free after 7pm) throughout downtown. Otherwise, it’s easily accessible on foot or bike, and bike racks are available. Rideshares are a good option, too.

When to get there

Doors generally open 30 minutes before showtime, and it’s best to arrive by that time to find parking (which can be an issue), grab refreshments, and settle into your seat. Arriving early ensures a smoother experience, and you’ll probably want some time to enjoy the venue’s ambiance and its historic art deco details.
