POINT OF INTEREST

Breakers Oceanfront Park

13 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL, 32118

Breakers Oceanfront Park and Environmental Learning Center is a 2.5-acre (1-hectare) park on Daytona Beach with a children’s splash pad, volleyball court, playground, and picnic areas. The city operates this public park, which was built in 2008. Its small indoor center specializes in natural exhibits for children. The outdoor park is linked to the boardwalk by wheelchair- and stroller-accessible walkways.

The basics

Breakers Oceanfront Park is the epicenter of Daytona Beach’s parks. Right on the shoreline, it delivers what you expect from a beach park: a splash pad and playground for kids, plus a volleyball court and picnic areas. The direct beach access includes outdoor showers, restrooms, and bicycle racks. The park is a gateway to the beach and boardwalk, so it’s crowded in the warm months and on weekends.

Things to know before you go

  • The learning center may be closed for private rentals on weekdays.

  • It's free to enter the park, but parking is paid.

  • The beach and pier are accessible to people using wheelchairs, and free beach wheelchairs are available at the lifeguard station.

How to get there

Breakers Oceanfront Park is located at 13 S. Atlantic Avenue. It’s adjacent to the Dayton Boardwalk and Main Street Pier. Multiple city bus routes stop at the park. If driving, take I-95’s Exit 261 onto W. International Speedway Drive, then make a right onto Atlantic Avenue. Use the Daytona Beach Pier parking lot.

When to get there

Breakers Oceanfront Park is open from dawn until dusk, though the learning center, splash pool, and restroom may have limited hours depending on the season. The park is busiest on weekends and between late spring and early autumn, but the best advice is to arrive as early as possible. The adjacent parking lots and metered spots fill up quickly, and there are few other parking options within a short walk of the park.

Experience the best of Daytona Beach next door

You can spend hours splashing and enjoying the scenery at Breakers Oceanfront Park but don't miss the public outdoor space's fantastic neighbors. The Daytona Boardwalk and Main Street Pier are right next door. These attractions have midway games, eateries, and outdoor events like concerts to help you spend the whole day along the oceanside.
