Brookfield Place
230 Vesey St., Financial District, New York City, NY, 10281
Formerly known as the World Financial Center, this mixed-use waterfront complex pairs office space with upscale retail and restaurant options. Renovations after the September 11 attacks upgraded Brookfield Place to a new level of splendor, making it one of Lower Manhattan’s most popular dining and entertainment destinations.
The basics
Today, this striking architectural masterwork overlooking the Hudson River is a favorite of shoppers, art lovers, foodies, and office workers in search of a great meal. High-end apparel and accessory storefronts welcome visitors alongside a food court worthy of even the most sophisticated New York taste buds. An atrium and outdoor venue along the waterfront host art shows, concerts, and other cultural events, while the North Cove Marina offers a sailing school and launch point for boat trips on the Hudson River.
Brookfield Place is a popular stop after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It features on many New York City sightseeing tours that include Lower Manhattan and Wall Street.
