One of the most popular music and entertainment centers in Branson, Missouri, the Clay Cooper Theatre has been thrilling visitors since it first opened in 2010. Hosting concerts, stand-up comedy, and variety shows, the performing arts theater promises family-friendly fun in the live entertainment capital of the world.
The basics
The Clay Cooper Theatre hosts numerous performances ranging from concerts playing top hits from the ‘60s to variety shows featuring dancing and country, rock, and gospel music. See one of the theater’s classic shows, held year-round, or snag a seat at one of the special events put on for a limited time only. You can book tickets online ahead of time to secure your spot for one of the various acts, which take place almost every night of the week and last around two hours.
Things to know before you go
The theater might get cold during the show. Although there's no formal dress code, it’s advised to bring something you can wrap yourself up in, in case the temperature dips.
Accessible parking is available.
Discounted tickets are offered to those who have previously seen a show; be sure to bring proof of a ticket stub to claim a discount.
How to get there
For those who aren’t driving in from out of town, the city is served by Branson Airport and Springfield-Branson National Airport; car rentals are available at both airports. Alternatively, you can call a taxi or order a ride-hailing service to reach the theater. There is no public transport in Branson.
When to get there
While any time of year is a good time to enjoy a show at Clay Cooper Theatre, some seasons offer more favorable weather for sightseeing. The weather during spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) is mild, with fewer crowds than in the summer, making it a nice time to visit. However, the city also comes alive during the holiday season with plenty of festivities.
About Clay Cooper
While Branson has plenty of theater shows, the Clay Cooper Theatre experience stands out. It was founded in 2010 by local performer Clay Cooper, who first began his musical career in Branson at the ripe age of 16. Cooper enjoys connecting with the audience after each of his shows, so there's a good chance you can meet and greet the singer afterward.
