The basics

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has more attractions than its sibling, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and features a colorful chairlift to the top of Mount Gushmore, one of the world’s tallest and fastest free-fall waterslides. Small drop rides like Runoff Rapids and Snow Stormers are perfect for younger visitors, while thrills for older kids and adults can be found on Summit Plummet and Downhill Double Dipper. Cross Country Creek and Melt-Away Bay will please swimmers of any age who desire a leisurely afternoon spent floating on tranquil rivers and pools.

Even in this humid, subtropical climate, the littlest of visitors can pretend they’re at their own ski resort at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Children under 48 inches tall will love the kid-sized waterslides and snow-castle fountain found in the dedicated children’s water play area. Meanwhile, the white-sand beach off Melt-Away Bay—great for families of all ages and sizes—brings coastal vibes to the center of Florida.

Things to know before you go

• Visitors of all ages must wear swimwear that is “appropriate for a family environment” and free of buckles, zippers, and other exposed metal.
• Young children and infants who use diapers are required to wear plastic pants or swim diapers in the pool areas.
• Feel free to bring what you need or arrive empty-handed, as both towels and lockers are available for rent.
• Stay cool in the shade by renting a lodge picnic umbrella package or upgrading to a private Polar Patio deck.
• Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park accommodates service animals, wheelchair rentals, audio description devices, and a variety of other assistive devices.
• Complimentary standard parking is available for all guests and no Park Pass reservations are required for entry.

How to get there

Getting to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is simple if arriving by car, which is what most guests do. Both Interstate 4 and State Route 429 have exits that lead into the parks of Walt Disney World® Resort. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can also take the Walt Disney World Water Transportation or Walt Disney World Bus Transportation directly to the park. Complimentary standard parking is available for all guests, no reservation required.

When to get there

The operating hours of Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park vary by season and will typically see the highest number of daily visitors during the summer months. Although May through August is the best time to beat the Florida heat, keep in mind that summer afternoon thunderstorms are common during these months. Plan to arrive right when the park opens; or if you’re park hopping, visit in the late afternoon and spend the morning at another theme park, such as Disney's Hollywood Studios®.
