Farview Point
Bryce Canyon National Park, UT, 84764
You'll understand why Farview Point got its name the minute you arrive at this scenic spot: The vista offers views of Table Cliff Plateau, as well as the Navajo Mountains and Henry Mountains in the distance. On clear days, you may even see Arizona’s Black Mesas, 160 miles (257 kilometers) away. Located along Bryce Canyon National Park’s Southern Scenic Drive, it’s one of eight viewpoints along the 18-mile (29-kilometer) route.
The basics
Tours visiting Bryce Canyon often stop at Farview Point for its stunning canyon views, including self-guided audio car tours. From the parking lot, walk the short path between the pines to Piracy Point to see even more of the reddish-pink cliffs of the Aquarius Plateau. While there are hiking trails in other areas of the park, this spot is simply a viewpoint to enjoy before driving on.

How to get there
It typically takes about 40 minutes to drive from the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center to the end of the Southern Scenic Drive; you have to return the way you came as there is no other exit. Farview Point is located around half way along on the eastern side of the road; it is recommended to drive from the Visitor Center to Rainbow and Yovimpa Points at the end of the route, then stop at Farview Point and the other viewpoints on your back, as they will then be easier to access without crossing the road.
When to get there
Bryce Canyon is busiest in the summer and early fall—plan to arrive early in the day or after 5pm for a quieter experience. The summer months can be quite hot; if hiking, bring sunscreen, a sun hat, and water. In winter, the higher elevation viewpoints like Farview Point can be inaccessible after snowfall.
Other top spots to visit in Bryce Canyon
The most popular spot in Bryce Canyon National Park is the Bryce Amphitheater, where you'll find the largest concentration of rock spires called hoodoos. At 9,115 feet (2,778 meters), Rainbow Point is the highest viewpoint in the park and a must-visit. If you want to see how the expansion of ice formed a natural arch in the rocks, stop at the Natural Bridge overlook.
