This 9-minute ride uses sky-high video footage to create the illusion of soaring above the city’s downtown and most famous sights, including Willis Tower, the Chicago River, and Millennium Park. Flyover also offers other experiences that take you virtually to locations around the globe, with destinations typically changing throughout the year.
The basics
Strap yourself in and get ready for a bird’s-eye view of Chicago’s highlights—or international destinations such as Iceland—during this immersive video and 4D ride. Take an architectural tour of the city first so you can identify the skyscrapers and other landmarks as you “fly” past. Afterwards, you can explore Navy Pier’s shops and restaurants, the Centennial Wheel, the Chicago Children’s Museum, and other attractions. You can choose a single Flyover experience or purchase tickets for two experiences at a discount.
Things to know before you go
Flyover in Chicago is an ideal activity for families with older kids. Children must be at least 3.3 feet (1 meter) tall to ride.
The signature Believe Chicago experience is always available, while other global destinations are available for a limited time.
The entire experience lasts about 30 minutes, with about 20 minutes of introduction and safety instruction and about 10 minutes of the 4D ride.
The 4D effect is similar to riding a roller coaster, and may not be suitable for anyone who suffers from a fear of heights or motion sickness.
The experience is accessible for wheelchair users via a stationary platform.
