POINT OF INTEREST

Glendale Galleria

100 W. Broadway, Glendale, CA, 91210

One of the larger malls in Los Angeles, the Glendale Galleria was first opened in 1976 and remains popular today, despite the presence of The Americana at Brand, its glitzy neighbor across the street. Expect a cornucopia of retail merchandise and merchandisers, including America’s first three-story Target.

The basics

Shoppers will find several major department stores at Glendale Galleria, which is also home to the second Apple Store ever opened in a US mall. Take a break from browsing the mix of designer shops and popular chain stores to grab a bite at the large international food court downstairs. The children’s play area on the upper level emphasizes healthy eating and a sense of adventure, and includes a large model plane.

Things to know before you go

  • A variety of dining options are available, including full-service restaurants.

  • Kids will find entertainment at the LEGO store and Build-a-Bear Workshop.

  • Amenities include free Wi-Fi and phone charging stations.

  • Stroller rentals and wheelchair assistance are available.

How to get there

From central LA, follow I-5 North and take the Colorado Street exit to Galleria Way. Parking is available at two parking decks, with valet parking offered in front of Bloomingdale’s. Electric car charging stations are located on level 2 of both garages. The best public transit route to 100 West Broadway is the bus; lines 180/181, 201, 780, 183, and 92 all run here.

When to get there

Glendale Galleria is open from morning until mid-evening daily. The enclosed mall is a great place to escape the summer heat or a rainy day. Check the calendar for special programming and events, what’s new in stores, and discounts.

Nearby attractions

With Dodger Stadium just 15 minutes away, it’s easy to catch a ball game (or drop off the family while you shop). Other attractions close by include: Descanso Gardens; the Museum of Neon Art; the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens; the Los Angeles Zoo; Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park; and Universal Studios Hollywood.
