Godshill Model Village

The Basics

Occupying the grounds of Godshill Old Vicarage, this family-run attraction re-creates the island’s most popular tourist towns at 1:10 scale, including handcrafted model houses, churches, and pubs, as well as tiny figures depicting island life from days gone by. The 2-acre (0.8-hectare) site also features artistically landscaped gardens, home to a number of unusual and ornamental trees and shrubs, that provide a beautiful backdrop for the models.

How to Get There

Godshill Model Village is situated on the High Street in Godshill, a 15-minute drive south of Newport on the A3020 Newport-to-Shanklin road. Free parking is available at the Griffin Pub, a 2-minute walk away. From Newport, you can also take bus 3 to the model village, a journey of around 35 minutes.

When to Get There

Godshill Model Village is open daily from early March through early November from midmorning to late afternoon or early evening, depending on the month. A visit typically takes around 45 minutes.

Refreshments at the Model Village

On sunny days, the village opens its refreshment hut to ticketed visitors. It’s a good bet for a light snack, such as ice cream, and a cup of tea. Alternatively, you can bring your own picnic and lay out a provided rug on the grass in the designated picnic area.
