Healdsburg Plaza
Healdsburg, CA
Marking the central area of one of California’s premier wine cities, Healdsburg Plaza is an inviting place to gather, with its gazebo surrounded by grassy areas and benches. Its small-town atmosphere provides a quiet, relaxing stop among the bustle of shops, restaurants, and wine-tasting rooms just a few blocks away. Visitors to the plaza can enjoy a nighttime visit, too, with the plaza lit up magically any time of year.
The basics
Most visitors to Healdsburg Plaza stop there on their own time, but many food and wine tours, biking tours, and walking tours meet or let groups go at the plaza, so you’re sure to see it even if you’ve booked a tour. The grassy areas make for a nice place for kids to play outdoors or for groups to picnic.
Things to know before you go
- Healdsburg Plaza is a main public square, making it a good starting point for a city outing.
- If you’re looking for a concert in the plaza, visit in the summertime when the plaza’s massive gazebo sets up musicians to play.
- When the weather is nice, you can bring your own picnic to the plaza. There are restrooms on-site.
How to get there
The plaza is situated on Healdsburg Avenue and Matheson Street. There’s free parking in multiple parking lots in downtown Healdsburg, as well as on the streets downtown. (Keep in mind that street parking usually has a time limit.) If you’re staying nearby, it’s best to walk to the plaza.
When to get there
For fun events, including concerts, the best time to visit Healdsburg Plaza is in the summertime. If you’re looking to beat the crowds, though, consider going in the late spring or early fall.
