The basics

Irvine & Roberts Vineyards offers a range of experiences, from tastings that showcase some of their most popular vintages to curated pairings that match wine with chef-made snacks. A three-course lunch is also offered a couple of times a week, designed to highlight the wine selection. Visit on your own if you have a designated driver, or relax and join a Southern Oregon tasting tour that includes transportation.

Things to know before you go

• Irvine & Roberts is a must-visit for fans of pinot noir.
• Book your tastings ahead of time to ensure you’ll be able to get a seat.
• You need to be at least 21 to drink wine at the vineyard. Bring a passport or a state-issued ID, even if you’re clearly of legal drinking age.

How to get there

Irvine & Roberts is just outside of Ashland, about a 15-minute drive or 35-minute bike ride southeast of downtown. There's no public transportation to the area, so you'll really need a car (or bike) to get there. However, if you’re planning to drink, it's much safer to join an organized winery tour or arrange for private transportation and leave the driving to someone else.

When to get there

Irvine & Roberts is open daily from spring to fall, and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the winter, when temperatures drop and wine tourism in Southern Oregon is typically slower. Tastings generally start first thing in the afternoon. A 2-hour lunch with wine pairings is served on Fridays and Sundays (by reservation).

Wine Tasting in Jacksonville

While you're in Southern Oregon, don't miss the chance to go wine tasting in Jacksonville, a small town just outside of Ashland. South Stage Cellars is a particularly atmospheric choice, with exposed brick walls and fireplaces. Anchor Valley Wine Bar and Tasting Room is another favorite, offering special chef’s pairing dinners from time to time.
