Langelinie Cruise Terminal

Copenhagen, Denmark, 2100

As one of three cruise port terminals in Copenhagen, Langelinie Cruise Terminal offers you easy access to the palaces, museums, and parks of Denmark’s capital city. Each year, more than 300 cruise ships—hailing from destinations such as the Baltics, St. Petersburg, and Greenland—drop anchor in Copenhagen.

The Basics

From Langelinie Cruise Terminal you can explore the city by hop-on hop-off bus; on a walking or Segway tour; or on a canal cruise. Tours typically cover the Little Mermaid Statue, one of Copenhagen’s most-photographed landmarks; the 18th-century Amalienborg Palace; and the colorful houses of Nyhavn waterfront. In downtown Copenhagen, there’s also the Tivoli Gardens amusement park, the Stroget shopping district, and Christiansborg Palace, all of which feature as stops on the hop-on hop-off tour.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Facilities at Langelinie Pier include a Copenhagen Tourist Information Center, ATMs, and currency exchange.

  • There’s no parking at Langelinie Pier.

  • Taxis are available from the cruise port.

  • A Copenhagen Card—which grants access to public transport and several museums and attractions—is a great choice for those who want to explore independently.

How to Get to Copenhagen from the Langelinie Cruise Terminal

Langelinie Pier is located around 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) north of downtown Copenhagen, around 15 minutes away by taxi. Bus 26 connects the port to Østerport Station, from where you can hop on the metro. Hop-on hop-off bus tours of Copenhagen also stop right by the cruise port.

Port Information

The official language in Copenhagen is Danish, but most locals speak at least some English. The currency is the krone and credit cards are accepted throughout the city.
