Nashville Parthenon

2500 West End Ave, Nashville, TN, 37203

Almost as impressive as the original Parthenon in Greece, the Nashville Parthenon is a full-scale replica of the former temple in the center of Centennial Park. Not only is it a Music City hot spot, but inside lies a 42-foot (13-meter) sculpture of the goddess Athena, plus the James M. Cowan Collection of American Art paintings and original Parthenon Marbles from the 1920s.

The basics

The Nashville Parthenon is best when explored at your own pace as there’s so much to see inside, but the exterior is also worth a walk around. While you can't prebook admission tickets online, you can buy them at the attraction’s ticket counter or museum store. To see the Nashville Parthenon from afar, you can take a hop-on hop-off bus or trolley tour that stops at Centennial Park for an easy drop-off near the attraction.

Things to know before you go

  • Families will be happy to know that children under four enter for free.

  • The Nashville Parthenon is closed on most national holidays, including Juneteenth and Veteran’s Day.

  • The museum store is worth a visit—you can even find honey made from bees that live in Centennial Park there.

  • If you’re driving, parking at the Nashville Parthenon is free.

  • The bathrooms are in the museum lobby near the entrance to the Nashville Parthenon. There are also baby changing tables inside the restrooms.

  • No food or drinks are allowed inside.

How to get there

The parking lot closest to the entrance also has a drop-off lane for those taking taxis or rideshare services there.

When to get there

Nashville Parthenon is open daily, except national holidays. The best days to visit are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays as these weekdays are the slowest, so you can usually avoid crowds. The best time to visit the attraction is either early in the morning or later in the evening as it can be busiest in the early and late afternoon, before and after lunchtime.

Spend an entire day at Centennial Park

There’s so much more to enjoy at Centennial Park than just the Nashville Parthenon. Pack a picnic lunch and head to the Nashville Parthenon in the late morning. Although you can’t bring your food into the attraction, there are lockers available for your bag. After your visit, find a good spot to sit down to eat in the park. Then, take the well-known, 1-mile (1.6-kilometer) walking trail to enjoy the beauty of Centennial Park.
