Nickelodeon Universe
5000 Center Court, Bloomington, MN, 55425
Covering seven acres (2.8 hectares) of family-friendly fun, this Mall of America® theme park is like an oversized playground. From the Log Chute to Crazy Cars, more than two dozen rides and attractions keep kids engaged. On weekends, Nickelodeon characters like Dora the Explorer, Gil and Bubble Puppy, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles make appearances.
The basics
Nickelodeon Universe® is an indoor theme park within Minnesota’s Mall of America. Visitors to Nickelodeon Universe can pay for individual rides using “points passes” or purchase wristbands that offer unlimited access. Some experiences within the theme park—such as Moose Mountain Adventure Golf, Rock of Ages Blacklight Mini Golf, and Dutchman’s Deck Adventure Course—require additional tickets. For younger children, Toddler Tuesday programming features special activities such as story time, crafts, and performances.
Things to know before you go
Cut costs by bundling tickets to Nickelodeon Universe with other attractions.
Special events, such as sound-and-light shows, are listed on the park's website.
Rides for small children use fewer “points,” while unlimited-ride wristbands are a good option for older kids. However, Toddler Tuesdays wristbands get young travelers discounted meals and unlimited access to select rides.
How to get there
Mall of America is in Bloomington, Minnesota, a 15-minute drive from Minneapolis–Saint Paul and the Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport. The Hiawatha light rail service links the mall with downtown Minneapolis and the airport’s Lindbergh and Humphrey terminals. To reach the mall using public transit from Saint Paul, take the local bus Route 54.
When to get there
Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America is open daily. While May through September is considered peak season, the busiest times are on weekends during school vacations, when the park fills with families. If you’re looking for a quieter experience, consider midweek days during the school year. Pro tip: When it’s gorgeous outside, the park stays calm.
What to do at Mall of America with kids
The family-friendly fun goes beyond the rides of Nickelodeon Universe. Other top attractions include the SEA LIFE® aquarium, the LEGO® Store, FlyOver America, and The Escape Game. There is plenty of kid-friendly dining in the mall, with options ranging from sit-down meals to endless varieties of snacks.
