Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
3667 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV, 89109
For many travelers, a stay at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas offers the best of several worlds. Its central location on the Strip makes it an ideal hub for those who want to explore a little bit of everything on Las Vegas Boulevard, and the vibe of the mid-range hotel and casino—which celebrates the glitz of Hollywood—attracts a high-energy crowd without offending multigenerational families looking for a less-raucous stay.
The basics
One of the most popular hotels in Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood is home to a 100,000-square-foot casino and plenty of restaurants, lounges, and bars. The shopping mall and live shows draw in visitors. The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood stretches for just more than a mile with roughly 200 shops, including brand-name retailers like Urban Outfitters, Victoria’s Secret, and H&M.
On the entertainment side, the hotel is home to a handful of theaters including the 7,000-seat Zappos Theater, where headliners such as Gwen Stefani and the Backstreet Boys have residency shows (sadly, Britney Spears’ residency at PH ended in 2017). Other options include magicians like Criss Angel’s Mindfreak show and the Crazy Girls topless revue. Some Las Vegas nightclub and attraction passes include a meal or a discount on a show at Planet Hollywood. You can also purchase tickets for shows online.
Things to know before you go
Planet Hollywood offers mostly casual dining options, but a few upscale restaurants recommend making reservations.
The casino features a racebook and sportsbook in addition to tables, slots, and poker.
If you are planning to walk along the Las Vegas Strip, make sure to give yourself plenty of time—it usually takes longer than you think to walk between the enormous resort properties.
Both smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms are available upon request.
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino charges daily resort fees. These fees cover amenities such as Wi-Fi, fitness center access, and local phone calls. Be sure to check the exact amount when booking, as fees can change.
How to get there
Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino sits on South Las Vegas Blvd., right next to Paris Las Vegas and across from the Cosmopolitan. To get there, hop on the Deuce bus, which stops right in front, or use rideshare, taxis, or rental cars for convenience. If you're exploring with a tour, many Las Vegas sightseeing packages include Planet Hollywood as a stop, making it even easier to visit.
When to get there
Residency shows typically take place on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as one other weeknight. The other theaters often host shows twice a night—once in the mid-evening and once in the late evening. In the winter months, many shows and pools are closed.
FlowRider
The rooftop pool at Planet Hollywood offers great views of the Strip and is also home to the FlowRider, a “wave in a box” where you can try surfing or boogie boarding in an enclosed space. Sessions are 30 minutes each. Afterward, celebrate with a drink at one of the two pool bars.
Ways to explore
With its facade of LED screens and reputation for parties, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino makes the most of its central location on the Strip. It’s got plenty of grown-up fun for visitors, whether you’re exploring the sprawling casino floor, visiting the sportsbook, or sipping cocktails at its six bars and lounges. But there are perks for families, too, such as low-key dining options and the all-ages pool deck featuring a FlowRider® surfing wave. If you’re heading to Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for a show, it’s a good idea to book tickets in advance.
