A statue of Rosa Parks greets visitors to the space that celebrates her legacy and spans 3.5 acres (1-5 hectares): the civil rights activist was a longtime Michigan resident. You can enjoy a range of activities here, which change depending on the season. In the summer, the space hosts concerts, festivals, and community events, including dance classes. It’s also a great place to relax and people watch, with ample seating and art installations. In the winter, the plaza turns into a popular ice skating rink.
