United States Naval Academy (USNA)

121 Blake Rd, Annapolis, MD, 21402

Established in 1845, the United States Naval Academy is the undergraduate college of the naval service and trains men and women to become officers in the Navy and Marines. Located along the Chesapeake Bay in the heart of Annapolis, it boasts a beautiful campus and chapel, in addition to the oldest naval museum in the country.

The basics

The United States Naval Academy offers a variety of public tours, including walking tours, electric vehicle tours, admissions tours, music-themed tours, private and group tours, and youth and education tours. Most of these provide insights into the historical highlights and monuments at the Yard and life as a midshipman. You can also explore the campus at your own pace on a self-guided tour, explore the artifacts and exhibits at the US Naval Academy Museum, and visit the Naval Academy Chapel.

Things to know before you go

  • Tours can be purchased online or at the Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center.

  • All visitors over 17 must bring two forms of identification, including a government-issued ID. Non-US citizens must bring their passport.

  • There’s a gift, restaurant, and coffee shop on-site.

The US Naval Academy is located on King George Street, within walking distance of the Annapolis City Dock. Paid parking is available at the Noah Hillman Garage or the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, where you can pick up a shuttle from the west side of the stadium.
