POINT OF INTEREST

Universal Epic Universe

1001 Epic Blvd., Orlando, FL, 32819

Scheduled to open on May 22, 2025, Universal Epic Universe is the newest—and, indeed, most epic—theme park in Orlando. Instead of one single concept, the park offers five different “worlds” for travelers to enjoy: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park. Needless to say, the park is a must-visit for families and pop culture enthusiasts.

The basics

Universal Epic Universe features five different parks with their own unique themes, rides, and experiences: Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, a new Harry Potter adventure that lets muggles relive the Battle at the Ministry; Super Nintendo World, complete with a Donkey Kong Country land and Mario Kart ride; How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, a Viking village modeled after the animated movies; Dark Universe, a mysterious work inhabited by classic Universal monsters; and Celestial Park, a futuristic space with roller coasters and astronomy-themed restaurants.

Choose from a variety of ticket options, including multi-day passes that include admission to Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Epic Universe. For an additional price, add Universal Express or Universal Express Unlimited to your tickets to skip the lines at participating rides.

Things to know before you go

  • Universal Epic Universe is wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs are available to rent for US$15 per day.
  • Strollers are also available to rent for US$40 per day.
  • The park is open to guests of all ages, though Universal Orlando Resort recommends guests under the age of 14 have adult supervision at all times.
  • Universal Epic Universe is smoke-free aside from one designated smoking area. This applies to vapes and e-cigarettes as well.
  • Free Wi-Fi is available in all Universal theme parks.

How to get there

Universal Epic Universe is located within the greater Universal Orlando Resort complex. If driving yourself, take 1-4 West to exit 74B from downtown Orlando or 1-4 East to exit 75A from Lake Bueno Vista or Kissimmee. Consider staying at one of Universal’s hotels to get direct transportation to any of the theme parks.

When to get there

Universal Epic Universe opens on May 22, 2025. As with all Orlando theme parks, the best times to visit Universal Epic Universe are during weekdays and outside major holidays to avoid the biggest crowds. Try to get there as soon as the park opens—or get Early Park Admission by staying at a Universal hotel or purchasing an annual pass—for the best chance of short lines at rides and shops.

How Universal’s other parks compare

Universal Epic Universe is like five parks in one, but Universal Orlando Resort is home to three other parks that pack punches of their own. Universal Studios Florida is all about the movies, with rides paying homage to everything from Despicable Me to the Harry Potter universe. Universal Islands of Adventure is an even bigger attraction for film buffs, with different islands themed to Jurassic Park, Marvel, Dr. Seuss characters, and more. Finally, Universal Volcano Bay is a tropical-themed park famous for its thrilling water rides.
