Walt Disney World® Resort
World Drive, Orlando, FL, 32830
Walt Disney World® Resort is the world’s largest theme park, featuring a total of four different parks to explore—Magic Kingdom® Park, EPCOT®, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios®. Enjoyable for the whole family and guests of all ages, these four theme parks (plus two water parks and Disney Springs®, a themed retail and entertainment center) provide an atmosphere of magic and adventure. Guests can expect to find unique attractions in each area of the resort, many of which are inspired by beloved Disney characters and films.
The basics
Walt Disney World® Resort covers an area twice the size of New York’s Manhattan and offers guests a variety of ticketing preferences. Types include single-day tickets and multi-day tickets. Standard Walt Disney World® Resort tickets include admission to one park per day, while adding a Park Hopper® Option permits admission to multiple parks. Selecting the Park Hopper Option Plus benefit permits a certain number of visits to the resort’s water parks as well as entry to multiple theme parks for the total number of days eligible by your ticket type.
Things to know before you go
Walt Disney World Resort is open daily, but hours vary by season.
Wheelchairs and strollers can be brought from home or rented from all Walt Disney World parks, as well as Disney Springs®.
Stroller wagons and strollers larger than 31 inches (79 centimeters) in width and 52 inches (132 centimeters) in length are not permitted.
Arriving at the parks early in the day is recommended so as to avoid long attraction lines.
Many people use the My Disney Experience app to place a mobile food order to avoid long lines for food and beverages.
To visit other parks, use the complimentary network of monorails, buses, and boats, or the Disney Skyliner for those staying at a Disney Resort hotel.
How to get there
A vast majority of visitors arrive at the parks by car, though it’s also possible to arrive by Walt Disney World Bus Transportation, Walt Disney World Water Transportation, or the Disney Skyliner for those who are staying at a Disney Resort hotel.
When to get there
Since the resort is a popular destination among families and their children, the busiest time of year is when school is not in session. So expect long lines when visiting during summer vacation, spring break, winter holidays, and other public holidays when schools are off. If you want to avoid large crowds and long lines, the best time to visit is midweek and during the school year.
Popular attractions at Walt Disney World Resort
As Walt Disney World Resort is composed of multiple theme parks, there are different noteworthy attractions located inside each one. TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise® in Magic Kingdom® Park is a thrilling roller coaster ride that zooms guests through a dark, computerized world. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT® is a trackless ride with a captivating storyline. Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park offers a 3D flight over Pandora, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios® lets guests board the famous starship for a secret mission.
