Winter Garden Atrium
230 Vesey Street, New York City, New York City, NY, 10281
Located in Lower Manhattan’s Brookfield Place, just steps from One World Trade Center, the elegant Winter Garden Atrium offers workers and visitors an attractive place to shop, grab a bite, and relax. With sweeping views of the Hudson River, the atrium is an oasis of tranquility amid the buzz of downtown.
The Basics
Severely damaged on September 11, 2001, the Winter Garden Atrium was renovated shortly after the attacks. Outfitted with plants and placed between the North Cove Marina and the 9/11 Memorial, the glass-vaulted pavilion offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets outside. And don’t forget to look up: the landmark’s Washingtonia robusta palm trees are capable of reaching heights up to 80 feet (24 meters). The shopping center within is home to upscale restaurants and designer boutiques such as Gucci and Burberry; it also hosts an array of cultural events.
