Campground Overview

All Saddlehorn Campground reservations, including same day, MUST be made online at www.recreation.gov. The campground is 4 miles from the west (Fruita) entrance. It is located in an area of Utah juniper and pinyon trees. Sites cost $22 a night, plus entry fee to Monument. One loop is open year-round. There are flush toilets, but no hookups or dump station. Each site has a picnic table and charcoal grill, no wood fires allowed. Max length is 40 feet for RVs, including both trailer and tow vehicle.

Reservation Info

Loop C closes for the season on 10/9/25 and Loop A closes for the season on 10/15/25. Loop A will remain on a day of reservation basis for the summer. Loop B is open year-round. Outer loop sites are reservable 6 months in advance, inner loop sites are reservable 2 weeks in advance. C Loop sites 52-69 are reservable on a day of basis, while sites 70-80 are reservable up to two weeks in advance. All day-of reservation sites open at 8AM mountain time on the day of. Check in anytime, checkout is at 11 am. Reservations can be made via www.recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

Fire/Stove Policy

Charcoal fires in grates permitted. Camp stoves are permitted. Wood fires are not permitted. On rare occasions fire bans will limit or ban charcoal fires.

Regulations Overview

Generators prohibited from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. in Loops A and B. Generators are never allowed in Loop C. RV/trailer length limit is 40 feet in A and B. Loop C length limit is 19 feet, no trailers. No wood fires in the Monument. Pets are allowed at campsites, but must be on a leash 6 ft. in length or less, well behaved, and attended at all times. Pets and bicycles are not allowed on any park trails. Drone use is prohibited in the Monument.
