Campground Overview

Introduction

Twin Peaks Campground is the main, developed campground at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, located 1.5 miles from the Kris Eggle Visitor Center and Highway 85. Twin Peaks Campground has 34 tent-only sites and 174 sites for RVs, and several sites can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet in length. Restrooms have running water and some have solar-heated showers. Hookups for electricity, water, or sewer are not available. A dump station, with potable water is located past the last row of campsites.

The Twin Peaks Campground is located 1.5 miles from the Kris Eggle Visitor Center and Highway 85. Continue past the visitor center and almost immediately turn left at the sign that says "Twin Peaks Campground." Follow that road for 1.5 miles until you reach the campground kiosk.

Fire/Stove Policy

Ground fires and the collection of wood within the monument is prohibited. All fires must be in the provided raised grills.

Regulations Overview

Occupancy is limited to one RV and a tent, or two tents, with a maximum of six persons per site. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Generator hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Generator use is always prohibited in sites 113 - 208. Campers must park in the space provided at their assigned campsite. No ground fires are allowed. Fires are allowed in the raised grills, or in raised fire pans that are at least six (6) inches off the ground.

    4 sites are picnic tables designed for wheelchair and scooter users; these sites are located nearest the restrooms. All restrooms and drinking water facilities within the 208 site campground are fully accessible. The trail to the amphitheater is a mostly flat, paved surface and ADA accessible. There are mostly flat asphalt roads throughout the campground, with paved surfaces surrounding bathrooms.

    There are 174 sites for RVs. Four (4) sites are large enough to accommodate RVs up to 45 feet in length. Hookups for electricity, water, or sewer are not available. A dump station, with potable water is located past the last row of campsites. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. Generator hours are from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Some of the sites have raised tent pads which may be inconvenient. Persons desiring a more level space may request another site. There are mostly flat asphalt roads throughout the campground, with paved surfaces surrounding bathrooms. The trail to the amphitheater is a mostly flat, paved surface and ADA accessible. The group campground has one restroom that is accessible with assistance. Group site 2 is level and considered accessible.
