Best Western Montgomery I-85 North Hotel

The hotel is ran by a family and is NOT a Corporate property. Computer in Lobby was nonfunctional, the first room offered was by the laundry/housekeeping room. Had to request a new room. The breakfast and the area was not appealing. The only positive was the location was close to the interstate.

The young lady at the front desk, Khushi, was terrific! Very personable and welcoming. Gave me a choice of which floor I wished to be on and I chose 3rd. The heater in the room didn't work. Khushi very graciously immediately changed the room for me. She was always smiling and friendly. Hotel is pretty standard but very adequate. Breakfast had more than just pastries and coffee (sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, etc). General location was very convenient to where I needed but actual hotel is off the street across a vacant lot, which was a bit disconcerting at first. Thank you, Khushi, for your attitude and work ethic! :)

I was told by the AAA agent who booked this room that it was pet friendly ... AND IT WASN'T!!

The hotel has seen better days, as has its neighborhood. The room was well appointed but stuffy and clearly had been smoked in. The complimentary breakfast was better than average. The exercise room, while small, was clean and in order. The reason for a three rather than a four is that I had paid in full ahead of time on the AAA portal but was asked to put a $50 security deposit hold on my card when I arrived. I was assured that it would be removed as soon as the room was cleaned. It still shows pending, and I am monitoring the account to make sure that it clears.

The price was good but the hotel is sandwiched between two other long stay hotels that have outside rooms which residents created a lot of noise making sleeping at night and working during the day challenging. The bathroom exhaust didn’t work and the carpeting needed attention throughout the room and facility. The staff was fine but housekeeping was inconsistent and not thorough when completed.

The stay was overall fine but the tv remote didn’t work and tried to call the front desk but the phone didn’t work and the bathroom exhaust fan wasn’t operational. We informed the front desk so hopefully those items will be addressed for future guests.
