We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at this Resort. First, I must say that Fabian, the PINO Bartender, was awesome. He is such a people person and very customer-focused. He would go out of his way to check on us and see how we're doing, if we need anything, how the drinks were and so much more. He was a delight to chat with and just made our experience even more enjoyable! He also made a killer espresso martini and even accommodated our request for a chocolate martini. If I was rating Fabian alone, he would get 5+ stars all of the way! The food at the PINO was also yummy! The only complaint is that the Chef and Wait Staff need to be more aware of their menu because one night I ordered the Greens Salad, which specifically stated that it included cherry tomatoes and shaved parmesan cheese, but it didn't have either. Fortunately, I had downloaded the menu because our waitress, Sue, who seemed irritated by any of our requests, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed, argued with me that it did NOT include these. It wasn't until I actually showed her the menu on my phone that she brought me the cherry tomatoes and shaved parmesan cheese. Sue was a nice waitress and did a good job, but she was somewhat hesitant to accommodate us and passive aggressive. The 2nd night, I ordered the same vegetable medley side dish and it was NOT the same at all. The first night, it had broccolini, asparagus, summer squash, tomatoes, green beans, and a few other veggies, but the 2nd night, it was only the broccolini and tomatoes. I was thoroughly disappointed, especially since I confirmed with one of the managers that it would be the same dish and they assured me that it would. However, I was too exhausted by this time and I had ordered this item to go so I was in my room and just didn't feel like having to explain again that they did not make the dish according to my verification NOR the menu. However, on a positive note, the hostess who worked the check-in stand at the PINO, who's name I did not get, was awesome! She had such a friendly, happy, positive, welcoming personality! She was great! Also, I did not get this person's name either, but there was an older lady with short hair at the front desk (she was wearing a gray suit) and she was extremely accommodating and expressed such service and hospitality. She made us feel so welcomed and pampered. She went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. The other front desk staff was also very friendly and helpful. The Yoga teacher at the JuJu spa, who's name I also forget (sorry - I tried to remember everyone's name) taught an AWESOME yoga class. She was very helpful, gentle, patient, encouraging and went to our pace. It was such a relaxing and rejuvenating class! I appreciate her talent and expertise. Michelle, my aesthetician, did a great job with my facial. She is also very talented, gentle and calming. I requested a relaxing and rejuvenating facial, and I know it can be hard to implement both of these together, but she did a great job at doing this! I greatly enjoyed my facial and spa services. A couple of complaints in this area is that they offer a "steam room", but there is no steam. It is just heated coals and provides a VERY DRY, hot heat. The heat was nice, but it would've been much better if they had a moist steam, which is usually what "steam" is so maybe not call it a "steam" room or implement a steam room, which would be nice! Also, the other "steam" room was not working. Also, my friend had requested a male masseuse for her deep tissue massage and was thoroughly disappointed when it was a female and there were no males working that day. She was told that her masseuse had called-in and didn't come to work that day. The female masseuse didn't apply enough strength and pressure to alleviate her aches and sore muscles. Also, she had put a hot wash cloth over her entire face, not leaving breathing room for the nose and mouth and my friend had a hard time breathing and this actually caused her some anxiety and she did not like this. Also, I had booked a 90-minute facial. I booked this over the phone with the scheduler at the JuJu spa. I even received confirmation that it was a 90-minute facial, as well as view it in my online account, which also stated 90-minute facial. Also, the literature and website for the JuJu spa STATED 90-minute facial so I'm not sure what the problem was, but I only received a 50-minute facial and was compensated for only $30, which I find to not be hardly enough of a credit at all. Also, I found it to be a bit sneaky when nobody mentioned that it would not be a 90-minute facial, but both the receptionist and Michelle knew that the time booked in the schedule was 90 minutes because AFTER my services, I spoke with the receptionist and she said, "Yes, I see that the time slot was booked for 90 minutes, but we don't do 90-minute facials" and she had no idea as to why that would've been done. I asked if they every did offer 90-minute facials and she said, "No". I then said that they need to UPDATE their website and literature because it states there are 90-minute facials. Also, it would be nice if they did implement the 90-minute facial. An hour was not enough, and I didn't even get a full hour. It was only 50 minutes. My friend had a 50-minute massage, at the same time as my facial, and I got out of my service like 5 minutes before she did! However, I loved the pool and tub area, but they do need to clean the pool and hot tub much better because the water, seating, floors and sidewalls were VERY slimy! Also, they need to clean the glass on the solarium because they were very dirty and you couldn't even see through the roof. The room was beautiful, but the couch and linens had stains. We loved the deep soaking tub though! It would be nice if they included jets, but the deep soaking tub was awesome and we took advantage of this. One complaint is that there are no microwaves in the room, nor can you pay extra to have one, nor is there a community microwave in the lobby for guests to use, which is standard at all hotels and resorts that I've stayed in. We had to keep asking the front desk to heat up our food. Then, I was notified that they can no longer do this because it's not allowed. They DEFINITELY need to implement microwaves in the rooms, or AT LEAST, offer a community one in the lobby. But all, in all, this was a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable stay and we will stay here, again, but I just hope that they remedy the issues that we experienced for future visits.
