The phones didn't work. I reserved a disability accessible room in advance. When we got there they didn't know about it. Parking was behind the building alittle difficult for a person in a wheel chair to get around. Water was supposed to be available, I asked and they gv me a cup with water. The book with restaurants has not been updated and looked old and the inserts were worn. The reception desk had a woman who was helpful when we had trouble with our Uber app. The door was sticking and made it difficult for someone in a wheel chair to pull open. On the other hand the beds were so comfortable but hard to pull out blankets and sheets. The room was clean. The bed pillows fluffy and glad there were none than 2.
We booked an accessible room with an accessible bathroom. When we arrived the bathroom had bars, but the tub was not accessible because it did not had any kind of seat and only had one bar, no bar along the back or side of the tub, only by the faucet. The bathroom was also very small to get in and out of with a walker. We called front desk about a chair and we’re told they did not have one and we could talk to a manager in the morning. The person we talked to in the morning (not sure if she was the manager) was annoyed with our request and said our room is not handicap. I stated we booked an accessible room and she said that is not the same as handicap. I stayed the reservation says there will be a shower seat. We did end up getting the seat, so I guess they found it. Though it looked dirty when we got it. Wednesday my companion fell in the bathroom trying to maneuver her walker. I called front desk for an ice pack as her knew was swelling and was told their first aid kit only has bandaids and to use the bag and get ice from the machine. As far as the room, we were able to member the main area, but not the bed so we pushed them further apart to be able to barley fit the walker. The room was also not in good repair. The sink in the room was cracked, the air filter to the air conditioner needed changing, and the bathroom appeared to have mold. I hate to be so critical, but this just wasn’t up to par with what we paid or expected. The positives: The bed was clean and comfortable, most of the staff was kind, breakfast was good, and we were only 5 blocks away from where we could catch a city bus to the zoo.
