Beautiful hotel, Great location and view but after that….. Now owned by Marriott so don’t expect a lot of service. Valet parking is way understaffed at times especially on arrival and was a cluster on ours. Took over 15 minutes to bring car to us next morning so don’t cut it close. Front desk could be more friendly.

No washcloths in the bathroom. Had to ask twice. No hand towels either. No information about local attractions. Went to Chamber of Commerce for that. Hotel room was clean and grounds and pool were beautiful. It's a beautiful setting right across from the beach. Staff was friendly. I couldn't use the room phone to contact the front desk but maybe that was due to remodeling?

People who work here do not know how to treat customers from the moment I called trying to get the special rate that I deserved and didn’t get. They were rude to me. I then made the reservation through AAA so we get some kind of discount, but paid for a full ocean view room . we arrived at the hotel. And upon check-in were greeted by two workers who were not that friendly simultaneously a man and a woman walked in the man was for wearing a flowered shirt. He was greeted as hello ladies our experience went downhill from there, the elevators take forever. The wallpaper in the halls is reminiscent of the Beverly Hills hotel, but with monkeys and other animals, the Galvez may be pink and have that wallpaper but it is far from the Beverly Hills hotel. We were given the worst ocean view room in the building it was at the end of the hall. It was my opinion that it was not completely refurbished, and it did not have a full view of the ocean. One window was completely blocked by a red tile wall, and the main window view was half blocked by a red tile roof, when I called down, they could not do anything about it except give us a room right next to the elevator I asked if they could do something for us. They gave us valet parking for free and the woman called me, hon, not professional . After a sleepless night with the dirty air vent blowing above my head ; next day I went to get ice, and I realize just how horrible our room was. Other rooms on the hall, have the full Oceanview, and they were bigger with more updated furniture refrigerators and cleanliness the white tables beside our beds look clean, except when you were lying in bed and looked over crevices that were right next to where your head was were filthy . I was pretty upset after seeing the other rooms and called the manager who I spoke to for a long time. She promised to do something for us, and since the reservation was made through AAA, she would have to make some calls and get back to us that was on Friday. Today is the following Wednesday. She never got back to us. I am writing this review because no one responded. No one did anything we did not get the view of the room that I paid for the place was not clean enough although it has been redone I would say they redid the bathrooms. I am not sure if the carpet is new it does not match anything. The end tables were filthy the windows to look at it if you were filthy, the whole experience was subpar. Marriot is supposed to take over soon ; they have their work cut out for them !
