I made this reservation because it was close to the hospital where my 98-year old father was under hospice care. He passed away the day our reservation was to begin and it did not make sense for us to stay at this location, desiring to be at another Hampton closer to family and friends. I contacted Travel Services, explained our unfortunate circumstances, but they were not able to persuade the Medina location to allow us to cancel without being charged. I realize we were changing reservations after the deadline date, but considering everything we were going through and the fact we were switching to another Hampton, I felt that a little more compassion could have been shown by the management at the Medina location.
