Since I booked through AAA instead of directly they wanted a $100 deposit. I have never had to pay a deposit ANYWHERE except for a pet. Since our plans changed before we left, about a week before, we had to add days. All prepaid of course. We couldn't extend the booking but had to make a 2nd booking so we had to pay the $100 deposit a second time. Both deposits were refunded right away but I would think in Chino Hills, at the price of the Hotel, that a deposit wouldn't be required. They were remodeling while we were there so early in the morning there was hammering, at least we weren't trying to sleep in as we had things to do but if we were, it would have sucked. The pool and Hot Tub are partially indoors, there is a steel fence with privacy something or other over them to hit it from the outside but I don't see why they didn't just enclose it the rest of the way. Breakfast was a joke! Toast, Bagel, 3 kinds of cereal, coffee (this was good), weak juice (Orange tasted like it was mixed with apple), didn't try the apple, yogurt and fresh fruit, banana close to expiring Sat. Apples Sunday. At @ $100 a night, they could toss out some eggs, sausage, or even a waffle machine like the "cheap" places do. It's a good thing they are making improvements. In our room, the carpet was worn and torn in places. The handrail in the bathroom was broken but just kind of hanging there on the wall. My wife noticed it luckily as I'm handicapped and could have been hurt if I had grabbed it. The bed was comfortable, we shared a king bed between my wife and our son, and I. Plenty of room. The pillows were flat. With all the room in the king room, they could have had a recliner, a love seat, or even a couple of chairs. Nope, just the one, hard and uncomfortable, and the table against the wall. Rather disappointed in our stay overall. Should have gone somewhere else but we were fooled by the pictures and the "indoor" pool and hot tub. Also, if you have an EV, there is no charging available. Others close by had free EV charging for those staying there. No vending machines, but they have a "self-serve" convenience area. Fruit, candy, bathroom/feminine products, etc. right by the desk behind a door.
