Hotel Parmani

The bathroom had no extra TP. Just the roll that was half used. There was hair on the bathroom shower wall, so it obvioulsy was not cleaned thoroughly before our arrival.

Location was very convenient for the Stanford events we attended, and I thought the room was pretty comfortable and reasonably clean. The towels were good, the bed was nice, and the wifi worked well. They had a mini fridge and a dated but functional microwave, which was useful. We were right next door to a fairly nice seafood restaurant, where we ate the first night, so that was handy. They were also about a ten minute walk from a bunch of restaurants on California Street, which had lots of nice breakfast options and outdoor seating. However, it wasn't the ideal stay, and I'll list the issues below. But I think overall we were quite satisfied, mainly due to price and location. So, there were a few little things. Based on the website, I expected a continental breakfast, and they don't offer that anymore (because of the pandemic, I was told). Reasonably priced bagels at Izzy's nearby fixed this problem, however. The key card demagnetized several times, no matter where we stored it or what we did with it, but the staff were friendly about it and kept re-magnetizing it for me speedily. I suspect the door lock is just getting old or something. Also, the walls are a bit thin. We were generally woken up most mornings by a truck backing out or a loud shower in some neighboring room. Last, the toilet did back up at one point. But they sent a housekeeper with a plunger immediately, and she fixed it while we were out. The service was friendly and we appreciated the help.
