This Howard Johnson motel was a disappointment. We stayed two nights during a busy weekend for Pigeon Forge. The general cleanliness of the motel was not good. For example: in a corner of the room, behind a chair there was food left on the floor by a previous guest. The motel common spaces and walkways were filthy. When we checked in on Saturday, there was a dirty discarded sock just outside our room that was still there when we checked out on Monday morning. The room was very spartan. The only furniture besides the beds was a desk & chair combo plus one additional chair. If I were to guess, over time the motel has discarded furniture that is no longer acceptable and simply failed to replace it. Another room on our floor had a grate/cover for the air conditioner removed and leaning against the wall in the walkway during the entirety of our stay. The one bright side of the hotel was comfortable beds. No towels were present in our room at check-in. I called down to the front desk and was told to come get towels. The front desk staff appeared to only be one person during our stay.
