AAA Diamond Inspector Notes
Constructed in 1927 this hotel features a luxurious lobby and stunning ballrooms. While the guest rooms are diminutive, they offer upholstered headboards and elegant bedding. Its history is colorful with speculation that Al Capone's family made regular use of the hotel for its various notorious activities. The hotel was bought by Playboy in the 1970s and was called Playboy Towers for most of that decade before being sold again and renamed the Regal Knickerbocker. Smoke free premises. 306 units, some kitchens. 14 stories, interior corridors.
