Motel 6 Anaheim Maingate

Rooms have new flooring and furniture but the lighting is sparse and the restrooms are tired but serviceable. Trash dumpsters were emptied at 5:30am and there was no hot water in the hotel in the morning.

This hotel was pretty good. I thought that it was a little expensive for a Motel 6. But the Disneyland area is probably a high demand area with high lodging rates, and probably with high overhead costs for the motel owner. I would like to have seen the motel have traction on its shower floor, to prevent shower users from slipping. I would also have liked to see the bathroom have traction outside of the shower/bathtub. THE LACK OF TRACTION IN EACH AREA IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I threw a towel on the floor of the shower, and another towel on the outside of the bathtub for traction. One night, my room's key card became demagnitized, and I had to go to the hotel's lobby to have the card remagnitized. An employee told me that Disneyland's electronic equipment often demagnitizes Disneyland guests' room key cards. Every single motel guest is probably a Disneyland guest. The motel has been named the "Maingate", presumably after Disneyland's main gate. The name of the street which the motel is located on has been renamed after Walt Disney. EVERY GUEST RISKS HAVING THEIR ROOM KEY DEMAGINTIZED AT DISNEYLAND. The motel needs to change its key card system. The housekeeping was good--my room was clean and well stocked when I arrived. My friend complained that he didn't receive automatic housekeeping during the day. I had the opposite problem--I didn't want housekeeping service during my stay, yet one day, I received unwanted housekeeping service.

Motel 6 doesn’t except certain Credit cards.I tried using my Venmo Visa, The CSA immediately said we don’t take pre-paid cards. I explained it was not a pre-paid card it was a real Visa card, she then stated they don’t take cards from companies that use online banking. I then presented my American Express card. We don’t take American Express either. I pulled out my Sam’s Club MC. You surely take this? She said yes and processed my payment. Very inconvenient. What if I didn’t have a host of cards to use? I then discovered a dirty tub with black particles and hair. I reported this, so they couldn’t speak with housekeeping about doing a better job. I was met with a defense attitude., and told, their manager would probably do nothing to accommodate me. I wasn’t asking for accommodations ma’am! I only wanted it noted. . As, you can see in the photos, their towels went unused.. Lastly I had to kill a nice size spider crawling across the floor. I believe I included that photo as well. Needless to say. I won’t be returning there.
