Nice staff, clean room, comfy beds....older hotel could use updates

I booked two rooms for a troop of Girl Scouts. When we arrived the process of checking in was smooth and flawless. After settling into our rooms we realized that the one room was having an issue with the A/C. Without question, the hotel moved us into another room. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spacious, the bathrooms had great showers, and overall everything was neat and clean. The breakfast in the mornings had a large selection. My girls loved the indoor pool! Every employee we spoke to was polite and helpful! Close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Less than 10 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg.

Reserved room 2 1/2 months in advance. Requested to be located away from elevators, vending machines and high traffic areas on an upper floor. They placed us on the 1st floor across from the elevators, vending machines, laundry and next to an entrance. It was as if they purposely located us exactly where we requested them not to. We were told that that was the only room available, since they were sold out for the rest of the week. In essence, take it or leave it. Our experience has soured us on staying at Best Western again.
