This hotel mixes an eclectic and vibrant chic style with historic inspirations and offers a great location in the heart of Old Town and a lovely courtyard to relax or dine in. The guest rooms vary in size, with a contemporary meets Colonial decor, plush bedding, marble bathrooms and windows that open. Smoke free premises. 241 units. 6 stories, interior corridors. We booked our 5 night stay thru AAA. Upon checking in after a cross country flight we were told there is a $25 extra fee for “complementary” items including beverages each evening starting the following eve. It was unexpected info but it was after 12am and we were exhausted. Then while checking out our bill showed a $25 destination fee plus tax on that. I asked about it and further questioned what that included. We were told it included the evening beverages (we drank water), a $15 credit for a bill at the restaurant if we ate there, a $25 discount on bike rental and water taxi in the area. Had we known about these we would have used them. They were able to refund us $15 for the 2 drinks and biscuits we had in their restaurant. Eventually they were able to show me where on website the destination fee was found. It definitely was a hidden item. Finally we were gifted a free night via a gift card. We will likely return since our son lives nearby and the bldg and location works quite well for us. Thanks to those at the front desk who took time to explain since the person who checked us in did not.
Can't beat location and charm. It's close to the town square, visitors center and water; not to mention nearby great restaurants, CVS and Taco Bell, for when you're feeling cheap.
