I should not even give it one star. The website said in-room safe. There was NO safe. The room was excruciatingly hot, so we turned the temperate down very low so that the air conditioning would come on. Over 2-hours later, the temperature did not move at all. It felt like we were given a large custodial room with nothing on the walls, and the floor was not carpeted. After the air conditioning never came on, we took our luggage, went downstairs and told them that we did not want to stay there. The front desk person told us that the air conditioning did not work in the 2nd or 3rd floors, but they put us on the 3rd floor. Luckily we were able to get a room elsewhere late at night.

When this hotel was called the Presidential Hotel it was very nice and clean. This new company says they have renovated it, but it does not look renovated at all. Our room seemed smaller and the bathroom was no bigger than a closet. They only had one elevator that worked and it broke down the day we were checking out. The lobby was loud and noisy. We travel to NYC several times a year and will not be returning to this hotel ever again. On our return trip to NYC, we were scheduled to stay there again, but due to the poor stay there the first time we canceled our reservation there and booked at a different hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Only one elevator worked. Room had holes in the walls. It was a lot better when it was the Presidential Hotel. Bathroom was so small you could barely turn around in it.
